Call Me Old-Fashioned

Call me old-fashioned but I believe:


If we look hard enough, there is some sort of good that can be found in almost every person.

We are not born with hatred toward others.  It is taught.

In living the golden rule.

Technology isn't everything.

Parents should love and care for their children no matter how they turn out or who they turn into.

Marriage is a sacred commitment.

Laughter has healing powers.

We don't have to agree with everything a person does to be friends with them.

Every person, no matter how small, or different, has immense value.

A phone call, letter, or visit is more meaningful than a text message.

Sometimes we just need to turn off all the distractions and think.

We don't have to be popular to be happy.

There are no coincidences.

God created us for a purpose.  We just have to find it.


Sorry this is kind of random.  I've just had a lot on my mind lately.  What kind of old-fashioned principles do you believe in?  Leave a comment below if you like!  Well, have a great Monday!

    This post is so true. Sometimes it is hard to see the good in people and things. Especially when we are down. I have been struggling the last couple days myself. Thanks for this posting!

    I was raised to have manners and the one thing that truly comes to mind is to treat other the way you would want to be treated, because I do still do this daily. By the way, thnk you for stopping by my blog and sp very happy to return the favor!! :)

    If you've many of my blogs, then you know I have a lot of old fashioned beliefs as well. ;) I believe in marriage and the commitments through it all. I also believe in kids having respect for elders.

      Thank you for the follow back!! That's another thing I believe in too. I'm only 20 year old, but it makes me absolutely sick when I see kids disrespect their parents and elders. And marriage is just so very sacred and not to be taken lightly. Thank you again :0)

    Totally agree about the texting thing! Same goes with Facebook comments. When I had my baby, over 30 people liked/commented on my FB status but only 2 or 3 people besides my immediate family actually came to see me. For some reason, people think FB can replace real contact.

    I agree with everything completely! I've just been pondering what kind of world it would be if everyone raised their children to believe along those same lines. If we tell our children it is a beautiful, loving, supportive world they'll grow up believing it!

    I love old fashioned values.. My grandparents set such a wonderful example and I love hearing stories about how they were brought up. Its so hard in this day and age but I think its really important for us to try and teach our children those values too. I really hope I am doing a good job with this.
